JOB TITLE: Audit Analyst, Insurance Pensions & Investments (IP&I)

SALARY: £48,000 - £58,000

LOCATION(S): Edinburgh & Bristol

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, involving at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our hub locations.

Group Audit and Conduct Investigations (GA&CI) has an exciting opportunity for you to join as an Audit Analyst, specialising in Insurance, Pensions & Investments (IP&I). About this opportunity

As an Audit Analyst, you'll support the delivery of high-quality audits by applying your knowledge of audit methodology to evaluate and test the design and operation of key controls. You'll be a proactive team member with a growth mindset, collaborating with colleagues across GA&CI on integrated audits.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Supporting control testing and identifying areas of concern, articulating potential challenges.
  • Helping deliver the audit plan and providing insights to support business outcomes for customers.
  • Developing an understanding of the business areas being audited, using your knowledge of the Insurance, Pensions, and Investments industry.
  • Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
  • Modeling the Group values and behaviors.
  • Proactively managing your career development opportunities.
  • Creating a positive learning environment, coaching and supporting less experienced team members, and providing timely feedback for their development.

What you'll need:

Risk Management and Control:
  • Prior audit (internal or external) or risk assurance experience.
  • A strong track record of delivering impactful, insightful risk and control assurance work valued by stakeholders.

Technical Expertise:
  • Knowledge of insurance, pensions, or investment products.

Project Delivery:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to own and prioritize work effectively to ensure timely delivery.

Strategic Thinking:
  • Understanding and interpreting Group and Business Unit Strategy to develop relevant audit insights.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and own your growth and development.

Data Analytics:
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate data effectively to drive audit outcomes.

Additional useful experience:
  • Experience using Agile project management principles for audits.
  • Understanding of direct-to-consumer investment platforms and products.
  • Understanding of investment fund structures.
