Location: Manor House School, Slinfold, Horsham

Salary: £20,906.25 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 14:30

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

Start Date: September 2025

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to join our close-knit team at Manor House School located in Slinfold, Horsham.

About the role

The postholder will support the proactive management of the school. Provide a clean, hygienic and well-presented environment and provide the school with a safe environment for all people – pupils, staff, visitors and contractors.

Responsibilities:

• Support the running of the kitchen.
• Prepare the dining area of service, which may include moving and/or setting up furniture, setting up of trolleys and the cleaning and dismantling of these as required after service.
• Prepare the service area, hot cupboards and other equipment at the point of service for the efficient and effective service of the meal.
• Serve the food according to style and type of operation.
• Wash dishes, cutlery, tumblers, jugs, serving utensils, containers, tables and all other catering equipment in the catering environment.
• Clean all catering areas daily.
• Carry out routine cleaning to a fixed schedule, in the school and dining area.
• Carry out ad hoc cleaning as and when required.
• Assist in the day-to-day management of cleaning materials stocks and reordering when necessary, ensuring that the school policies on approvals are followed.
