Role

Child Bereavement UK helps families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies.

We support children and young people (up to the age of 25) when someone important to them has died or is not expectedto live, and parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying.

We provide training to professionals in health and social care, education, and the voluntary and corporate sectors,equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.

Child Bereavement UK has an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to lead on the provision, evaluation andongoing development of a Scotland-wide Bereavement Support Service that ensures families and professionals canaccess high-quality bereavement support when a baby or child has died, or when children or young people arebereaved. The Bereavement Support Service Lead will also support the strategic development of the Charity’sservices in Scotland.

In this role you will:

  • Lead/manage/contribute to and further develop the provision of a blended model of bereavement support acrossScotland
  • Provide training, consultancy, and support for professionals whose work brings them intocontact with bereaved families
  • To collaborate with partners to develop bereavement support servicesacross Scotland.
  • To support Child Bereavement UK’s Fundraising Team in the generation of sustainableincome to fund our Scottish operations, providing information and data to support applications andreporting.

This is a new role and initially will require a regular presence at our offices in Finnieston, Glasgow. Onceestablished, hybrid working will be an option.

About the Role:

We’re seeking a highly motivated Training Manager to lead the learning and growth of our team. We currently have a community base in the Pollok area of the southside. The role involves meeting partners andfamilies across the city, in their local communities.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a highly motivated and results driven individual with extensive experience of volunteermanagement, to join our team as a Senior Branch Engagement Officer – Scotland.

Our network of Branches are entirely volunteer run by parents, carers and autistic individuals who want to make adifference to autistic people. They are local, community led and entirely responsive to the needs of autisticpeople in their area.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting these branches to implement policies and procedures to keepactivities safe and legal and become more sustainable.

To be successful, you will have good communication skills and have strong leadership qualities. You will need to havea good knowledge and understanding of volunteer management and be educated to at least university degree levelin an appropriate discipline or proven track record in the field.

Where you will be working:

This role will be home based, so you must be able to work remotely (IT equipment will be provided). Candidates mustbe based in Scotland.

This is a permanent contract working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
