Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer - External Supply Chain - Submarines

An exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer focusing on the External Supply Chain has arisen within Rolls-Royce Submarines.

Role Overview

To support the growth of Rolls-Royce Submarines, we seek personable, self-directed Engineers to collaborate with our supply chain, driving program success. You will be responsible for the manufacture of parts within the external supply chain, covering all stages of the product lifecycle, from new product introduction to process improvement, influencing external suppliers in delivering nuclear products.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to developing manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives
• Assess manufacturing supplier capabilities, support source selection and approval
• Govern manufacturing activities to ensure safety, quality, cost, delivery, and lead-time (SQCD) meet requirements
• Apply DFMEA/PFMEA knowledge to influence product design and manufacturing
• Act as the primary Manufacturing Engineering representative within cross-functional teams for suppliers
• Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers through negotiation and coaching skills

Candidate Profile

• Experience with fabrications, valves, complex assemblies, machining, or critical classified components
• Degree or equivalent in engineering or related technical discipline
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and knowledge of six sigma/lean techniques
• Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills
• Ability to liaise effectively at all organizational levels
