Job description

To provide a professional secretarial service to the Consultant Psychiatrist and members of the NMHT, assisting them in achieving their objectives, organising their workload, and liaising with all relevant and appropriate services. Reliable data entry into the GP PAS systems such as Care First, SystemOne, Emis, and Rio is required to ensure a full and effective clinic system is in operation. The post holder will also be responsible for receiving all visitors, staff, patients, and GP telephone calls in a polite, friendly, and courteous manner.

Responsibilities include:
  1. The receipt of all correspondence, booking of new patient appointments, and attendance at MDT weekly meetings.
  2. Audio transcription and text processing of clinical letters, reports, and other correspondence as required by the medical team.
  3. Acting as a focal point of contact, responsible for disseminating information, messages, and enquiries for the medical team.
  4. Liaising with multidisciplinary team members, other health professionals, staff within the Trust, GPs, social workers, service users, carers, and external agencies.
