We're an organization committed to continuous improvement, driven by a determination to deliver care we're proud of and that our patients are satisfied with. We are no longer in special measures; we've opened two new theatres at our Elective Surgical Hub in King George Hospital (KGH). Our CEO, Matthew Trainer, has been named the top CEO by the Health Service Journal.
We operate from two main sites - KGH in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with over 330,000 visitors last year. We are campaigning for £35m to transform the A&E at Queen's and eliminate corridor care.
Our patients benefit from our Women's Health Hub in Ilford, an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch, and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch.
These CDCs operate 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing an additional 88,000 scans annually.
Our staff of 8,000 come from 146 different countries, representing diverse backgrounds. Many work flexibly; over 400 are enrolled in Ofsted-accredited apprenticeship programs. We are proud to be a London Living Wage employer.
We are introducing an electronic patient record system that will benefit both staff and patients.
