Job description

We are currently seeking a Lymphoedema Assistant Practitioner to join our team in the East Suffolk region. The role involves assisting in the treatment of patients with Lymphoedema, primarily based at Ipswich Hospital. You will also lead group work for patients to support their self-management and participate in developing new workshops with senior colleagues.

The Lymphoedema Clinic provides advice, support, and treatment for patients with swelling due to cancer and non-cancer conditions. With appropriate training and competencies, you will support practitioners with measurements, fitting compression garments, and management advice.

This role also involves rehabilitating breast cancer patients through post-op exercise groups, focusing on education and self-management to enhance recovery and shoulder mobility.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist lymphoedema specialists by delivering skilled care, working independently within competencies, and reporting on patient progress.
  2. Lead face-to-face exercise groups for post-op breast cancer patients, promoting mobility and function, with opportunities to develop virtual care aspects.
  3. Lead education and self-management support groups for lymphoedema patients, using a person-centred approach and developing virtual care options.
