Are you a passionate and creative professional eager to inspire the next generation? GSL Education North Yorkshire branch is seeking to appoint a Design Technology Teacher to work at Client Secondary Schools in York, North Yorkshire starting in September 2025. We warmly welcome applications from both experienced teachers and early careers teachers.

Design Technology Teacher Responsibilities:

• With direction from the Head of Department and within the context of the school’s curriculum and schemes of work, plan and prepare effective lessons.
• Deliver interactive lessons for KS3 and GCSE students that capture students' imaginations and foster their passion for Design Technology.
• Incorporate theoretical aspects of Design Technology.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching materials and schemes of work that align with the national curriculum.
• Monitor and evaluate the assessment and feedback to students in line with whole school and department policy.

Design Technology Teacher Requirements:

• A teaching qualification, namely a PGCE or a B.Ed. with QTS.
• Strong subject knowledge within the Design Technology curriculum area.
• Passionate about teaching Design Technology along with a strong command of the subject.
• Strong interpersonal skills and classroom behaviour management.
• Committed and reflective professional who strives for continued improvement.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
