Job description

Storeroom Assistant
Location: Kingston upon Thames
Starting Salary: £29,000
Hours: 40 hours per week (8 am to 5 pm)

A successful and well-established fire alarm company based in Kingston upon Thames is currently looking to recruit an experienced storeroom assistant. Your role would entail providing a high standard of support across the office, ensuring all tasks are performed efficiently and in a consistently accurate and timely manner.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Assist with any store/stock duties, e.g., receive and process the deliveries
  2. Sorting waste for recycling
  3. Help keep the store neat and tidy
  4. Prepare materials for jobs and projects, and prepare for the drivers to collect
  5. Book jobs for drivers
  6. Keep a record of incoming and outgoing materials by logging into the internal database
  7. Log outgoing materials
  8. Help drivers to load and unload materials and dispose of waste materials
  9. Load and unload old and new fire extinguishers from the crate
  10. Assisting with call outs if required
  11. Filing, database/spreadsheet work
  12. Other admin duties

Eligibility Criteria

You must have:

  1. Excellent communication skills and ability to work on own initiative
  2. Ability to multi-task and manage your time and workload efficiently, working to a deadline under supervision
  3. Confident, builds rapport with peers internally and externally
  4. Strong IT skills; Outlook, Word, Excel, etc., plus excellent typing skills
  5. Excellent time management skills
  6. Attention to detail
