Qualifications

Job description

Job title: MET Technician

Department: Activate Accident Repair

Location: Bristol

We’re excited to announce the addition of two new sites to our Activate Accident Repair business! We have acquired two established Motorcare Bodyshop's in Tunbridge Wells (Kent) and Bristol - a fantastic step in expanding our own repair capacity to support our growing client base. We are now recruiting for our Bristol site and are looking for a MET Technician to become a part of one of our newest sites as we grow our Activate Accident Repair team.

About the role

Dismantling and reassembling accident-damaged vehicles in line with manufacturers' specifications and to the high standards expected by our customers.

Key responsibilities

  1. Carry out work detailed in estimate, removing damaged components from the vehicle in preparation for Repair/Paint work to be carried out.
  2. On repair/replacement of the components they must be refitted, restoring the vehicle to pre-accident condition.
  3. Deliver the highest standard of quality.
  4. Attain manufacturers' and/or estimated repair times.
  5. Report all faults, defects noticed whilst working on vehicles.
  6. Accurately report all components, materials and consumables used.
  7. Protect customers' vehicles with covers and dust sheets etc.
  8. Safeguard the customers' vehicle and contents whilst being repaired.
  9. Ensure that all work carried out meets acceptable safety and quality standards.
  10. Company repair/refit times to be achieved.
  11. Hours, components, materials and consumables used recorded.
  12. Wastage of materials not to exceed target set by Manager for period.
  13. No customer vehicle or contents to be damaged/lost while vehicles under repair.
  14. Ensure safe and reliable use and maintenance of equipment and that operatives receive adequate training in its use.

Skills and experience

  1. ATA / NVQ level 3 in MET
  2. Good Communication skills.
  3. Good Decision Making/Problem solving skills.
  4. Good H&S knowledge/awareness.
  5. Good Time management skills
  6. Relevant industry experience and time served as a repair technician.
