Job description

️Procurement Consultant

Bristol, Manchester or London - Working Patterns - Min 1-2 days per week on site, but consultants must be happy traveling up to 4 days per week so customer sites if required

£44,000 - £85,000 per annum (different levels available)

Our client is a large consultancy in the UK and are particularly successful working on MOD, Government and Public Sector contracts and are working hand in hand with clients to advise them and guide them through complex procurements and commercial negotiations.

It is essential that you have experience in multi-supplier procurements within Government, Defence or National Security and have excellent stakeholder management experience, ideally within a consultancy capacity.

Our client has won a number of key programmes and this is an excellent opportunity to really make a difference at this crucial time!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft procurement and commercial strategies, to include providing and developing ‘credible options’ to support client decisions.
  • Devise incentives for suppliers.
  • Provide options regarding consortiums and partnerships.
  • Provide advice and practical support on commercial structures, framework and lotting opportunities.
  • Analyse costs, payment, pricing and incentivisation mechanisms.
  • Create and manage procurement documentation such as tender documents, ITN/ITPD, PQQs and Contracts.
  • Gain confidence from the clients to support development and change.
  • Develop contract management operating models.
  • Run workshops and training to knowledge share with the clients.
  • Team leadership required at the more senior levels.

Key Skills:

  • Experience within a Commercial or Procurement role within Government, Defence or National Security.
  • Experience working within a complex programme, providing strategic advice on how to get a service/asset into delivery.
  • Strategic decision-making and the ability to communicate that strategy to key stakeholders.
  • Excellent stakeholder management experience, ideally within consultancy.
  • Ability to create costing and financial options.
  • Familiarity with and use of existing Public Sector good practice, such as the Outsourcing Playbook, and MOD frameworks and standards, such as DEFCONS and DEFFORMS.
  • At the more senior levels, team leadership.
