Procurement (Construction) Coventry GBP Up to GBP 83,000 + GBP 6,800 Car + Up to 12.5% Bonus Hybrid Working - 2-3 days onsite

The Civils and Infrastructure Team at Ford & Stanley are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager (Construction / Infrastructure) to join a global OEM that specializes in manufacturing high-quality, high-performance, sustainable battery solutions for various applications.

Their mission is to accelerate the global transition to net-zero emissions by pioneering advanced battery technologies.

In pursuit of this mission, they are constructing a first-of-its-kind GBP 4 billion mega-factory in the UK. Operations are set to commence in 2026, with design and build continuing through to 2029.

We are looking for a Procurement Manager to lead a team of experienced Buyers overseeing various work packages (Civils, MEP, Logistics, etc.) for the construction of their new facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee end-to-end indirect procurement to support business objectives.
  • Lead a team handling various procurement categories, including Civil Construction work packages, QMS requirements, and contract selection to ensure UK Public Procurement Policy compliance.
  • Drive procurement process improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals, focusing on cost and quality.
  • Review and approve sourcing notes via the sourcing council committee.
  • Manage planning and design phases of MEP projects.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and establish long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and legal teams to support procurement initiatives and ensure alignment.
Candidate Essentials
  • Extensive experience in Indirect Sourcing within construction, energy, or transportation sectors.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects with GBP 100m+ spend responsibility.
  • Knowledge of sourcing, vendor management, NEC/4 contract terms, and contract finalization.
  • Experience with Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis and presentation.
Desirable
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, Quantity Surveying, or similar.
  • Experience with ERP Systems such as SAP, Ariba.
  • MCIPS qualification.
