Are you an experienced Mental Health Nurse who enjoys working in a fast paced environment?
We are looking for dedicated RMNs to work within our integrated Mental Health & Substance Use Service at HMP Dovegate in Uttoxeter. These are new roles designed to support triage and assessment with men who are newly received into custody. You will work closely with members of the wider multidisciplinary Healthcare team to ensure that mental health needs are identified early and the appropriate level of care is provided in a timely way.
HMP Dovegate is a Category B adult male facility for men aged 21 and upwards on remand or serving sentences.

Working effectively within the team you will provide evidence based interventions. You will manage a caseload and will be required to undertake assessments and reviews. Using the Care Programme Approach, you will be a care coordinator, communicating effectively with those involved in the care of people in custody up to release. The role will require you to be a reflective practitioner, eager to work collaboratively with individuals, carers and other professionals to contribute to the delivery of an effective, dynamic, integrated mental health and substance misuse service.
You will work with individuals from initial assessment through to discharge, which can include transferring care to other providers such as hospitals or CMHTs whilst working with a variety of agencies in the Offender Health Pathway. You will help to rehabilitate and support service users to live hopeful and fulfilling lives as members of the community.
Inclusion (part of Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust) has prison substance misuse and mental health teams across the country and you will benefit from training and development opportunities as well as the support of an NHS employer experienced in providing prison healthcare for many years.
