We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspirational professional to contribute to the leadership of our Student Support Services as part of the school's ongoing improvement journey. Midlothian has 6 secondary schools, 32 primary schools (including 19 nurseries), and 2 standalone nurseries. Our special school, Saltersgate, supports children with various needs. Schools vary from small primaries with 20 pupils to large secondaries with over 1200. Our catchments are diverse, from rural to urban, with ongoing new builds and refurbishments.
Penicuik High School, built in 1937, serves the Penicuik community. It is currently undergoing refurbishment and rebuilding starting August 2025. The Penicuik Associated Schools Group includes Cuiken, Strathesk, Cornbank, and Sacred Heart Primary Schools, with a current roll of 660, expected to grow to about 950.
