Landfill Gas Technician

Astute’s Renewables Team is partnered with a leading business in the Biogas sector, who have an impressive portfolio of Landfill Gas sites across the UK and are looking to recruit a Technician to cover sites around Bristol, South Wales and Kent.

The Landfill Gas Technician role comes with a salary of between £30,000 - £38,000 depending on experience, bonus, life assurance and additional benefits.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Landfill Gas Technician Role

Reporting to the Site Manager you will:

1. Planned & reactive maintenance on Landfill Gas sites.
2. Carrying out fault finding activities on the gas engines.
3. Performing remote start-ups of back-up engines if there is a breakdown.
4. Planned and reactive maintenance on gas fields and carrying out repairs as necessary.
5. Working as part of a team of Engineers, ensuring safe & efficient operation of the generating plant.
6. Ensuring health & safety is adhered to at all times.
7. Other duties as required.

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

1. A relevant engineering qualification or time-served experience.
2. A full UK Driving Licence.

Personal Skills

The Landfill Gas Technician role would suit someone who is:

1. Experienced in maintaining and repairing Jenbacher or CAT engines, or other large reciprocating engines.
2. Experienced working on large processing equipment (pumps, motors, etc).
3. Happy to travel across to various sites in the Southwest and Southeast of the UK with overnight stays.
4. A junior Engineer who is willing to learn and be part of an established team.
