Job Title: Multi-Skilled Building Services Engineer

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 17:00 (site shift rota)

Standby/Out-of-Hours: Participation in emergency call-out rota may be required

Job Purpose: ABM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Building Services Engineer to support facilities management operations across designated sites. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining building systems, delivering reactive and planned maintenance, and upholding high standards of health, safety, and service delivery. This is a hands-on role suited to a self-motivated individual with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all company-issued tools and equipment in a clean, serviceable, and presentable condition.
  • Complete all company paperwork and IT system requirements accurately, legibly, and within required timescales.
  • Participate in the weekday site shift rota (Monday–Friday, 07:00–19:00).
  • Support the standby/out-of-hours emergency call-out rota when required.
  • Present a professional, courteous, and approachable demeanour at all times to clients, contractors, and colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with the Contract Manager, Account Manager, Contract Administrators, and wider team.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly working environment, ensuring waste is disposed of correctly.
  • Support and actively promote M&S-led or ABM-led operational and sustainability initiatives.
  • Carry out general maintenance, reactive repairs, and other duties related to the FM function as required.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar multi-skilled building services role.
  • Strong mix of general maintenance and reactive repair skills across mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Capable of prioritising tasks and managing workloads effectively.
  • Comfortable working at height when required.

Qualifications Essential:

  • Recognised Electrical and/or Mechanical qualification(s)
  • Completed apprenticeship in a relevant trade (desirable)
  • Testing and Inspection qualification
  • Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) certification
  • IPAF and/or PASMA certification
  • Working at Height (W@H) training

Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Follow all ABM Group and site-specific health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Report deficiencies or risks in systems or equipment that could impact service delivery or safety.
  • Use all work equipment and PPE as instructed and in accordance with training.
  • Communicate any concerns, incidents, or training requirements to your Line Manager or via the appropriate reporting system.
