Croydon Council’s Parks Service plays a vital role in the borough’s commitment to environmental stewardship, public wellbeing, and inclusive community regeneration. The service delivers projects that preserve local heritage while meeting the needs of diverse communities, supporting Croydon’s broader objectives to enhance public spaces and promote community engagement.
The “100 Years of Ashburton Park” initiative aligns with these goals and is part of the council’s regeneration and heritage programme, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. This project supports the Council’s focus on sustainable development, cultural enrichment, and public participation.
The Heritage Project Manager will lead the delivery of the “100 Years of Ashburton Park” project, responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating its successful implementation over three years.
The role includes overseeing a small project team, managing relationships with internal stakeholders, community organisations, and external contractors.
Key responsibilities include budget oversight, compliance with National Lottery Heritage Fund requirements, community engagement, and heritage restoration. The postholder will act as the project lead, ensuring timely delivery, high-quality outcomes, and meaningful community impact—contributing to the Parks Service’s objectives and the Council’s regeneration goals.
We seek a professional with demonstrable experience in managing heritage, community, or landscape projects. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in grant-funded project delivery, including commissioning and contract management. Proficiency in project management tools and strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential. Experience in heritage, landscape, or community project management is expected.
The role requires expertise in heritage conservation, public engagement, and budget oversight. Experience in team management and collaboration with internal and external partners is essential.
