Desk Assistant - Graduate Junction

Reporting To: Resident Experience Manager

Description

The Desk Assistant is a representative of the staff, serving an important role in developing a sense of community. The desk assistant is responsible for three key areas that ensure the smooth operation of the front desk:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Maintain Community Standards and Safety:
  • Assist in identifying and reporting maintenance and safety issues.
  • Help manage fire and emergency situations, notifying professional staff when possible.
  • Know the location and operation of fire safety equipment.
  • Perform security checks during shifts.
  • Know emergency contact numbers.
  • Supervise student conduct and noise levels, and notify On-Call staff as needed.
  • Communicate policies and regulations effectively.
  • Help maintain quiet hours.
  • Assist Students and Provide Customer Service:
    • Welcome and orient new residents, helping locate rooms and facilities.
    • Provide information about campus services.
    • Follow proper procedures for equipment issuance and return.
    • Assist guests with contacting residents and ensure visitor procedures are followed.
  • Perform Administrative Tasks:
    • Support staff during check-in and check-out processes.
    • Keep administrative logs as required.
    • Complete other tasks assigned by management.
    • Be punctual for scheduled shifts.
