As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Employee Experience team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technical issues, thinking beyond routine approaches to build solutions or resolve problems.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, review, and debug code written by others.
• Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met during software development.
• Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reports from large, diverse data sets to improve software applications and systems.
• Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Proactively identify opportunities to automate or eliminate recurring issues to enhance operational stability.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials for system integration and applicability.
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new technologies.
• Contribute to a team culture of equity and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification in ServiceNow platform concepts with applied experience.
• Expertise in at least two ServiceNow modules.
• Proficiency in scripting (JavaScript, Glide scripting) and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, Angular).
• Experience with system integrations between ServiceNow and other applications using REST API.
• Strong analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to debug issues and implement proactive monitoring for platform stability.
• Experience mentoring junior developers and fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent communication skills to clarify requirements with stakeholders and collaborate effectively.
