Job description

DCS Technology in partnership with our client who are a Microsoft Gold Partner consultancy we are searching for an Finance Apprentice to join their rapidly growing team based in the Midlands.

Overview of the role:

As part of the Finance team you will work to ensure that all sales invoices, purchase invoices and credit control tasks are complete and within designated time-frames. Furthermore, you will be tasked with providing general administrative support to the wider business in to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the office environment.

Your working week will include hours/days where you will be studying both in person and virtually towards a AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.

What will you get up to?

  • Sales Invoicing: Collaborate with the finance team to generate and issue sales invoices promptly.
  • Credit Control: Prepare accurate credit control reports and follow up on outstanding payments in line with business requirements. Ensure correct allocation of received payments.
  • Customer Support: Respond efficiently to customer enquiries, directing them to the appropriate colleague or department when necessary.
  • Purchase Ledger: Enter purchase invoices within designated time-frames to maintain up-to-date records.
  • Administrative Support: Handle incoming phone calls and direct them appropriately; provide general administrative assistance across the office.
  • Licensing: Order required licenses under supervision as needed.
  • Travel & Accommodation: Arrange hotel and travel bookings in line with company policy, ensuring cost-effectiveness and value for money.
  • Office Management: Manage the procurement and coordination of office consumables and lunch provisions in line with business needs.
  • Visitor Management: Serve as the first point of contact for office visitors, ensuring they are signed in and their host is notified of their arrival.
  • Expense Processing: Review and process weekly employee expenses, posting them to the finance system in accordance with company procedures.
