Community Engagement Volunteer (Essex), Essex

Last year, 786,574 people received information and support from Victim Support. As a VS Community Engagement Volunteer, you will help us reach more victims of crime.

Location: Victim Support, Suite 4, The Chequers, High Street, Ingatestone, Essex, CM4 0DG

Expected Hours: 3 or more hours per month

DBS Required: Yes

Volunteer Role in Essex

As a Volunteer, your responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with local communities to inform them about crime and our work.
  • Gaining experience in planning, organising events, and delivering presentations.
  • Working in partnership with local Community Voluntary Services (CVS) and universities.
  • Representing Victim Support at CVS events, university events, pride events, and local fetes.
Requirements
  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Volunteer at least 3 hours per month for a minimum of 3 months.
  • Complete a 3-day workbook.
  • Undertake a DBS check if required.
  • Provide two satisfactory references.
  • Have an active email address for communication.
Expenses

Volunteers are entitled to reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses such as travel and lunch.
