Job Title: Welder

Location: Kilmarnock

Shifts: Mon-Fri Days (Mon-Thurs 07:30-16:30, Fri 13:30 Finish)

Hourly Rate: £41.06 per hour

Hours Per Week: 40

Duration: Permanent

Start Date: Immediately

Company Summary:

A leading Rolling Stock Engineering Business offering a comprehensive range of refurbishment, maintenance, overhaul, engineering support, project management, and repair services to the UK rail and light rail sector.

Position Summary:
  1. Perform coded 135 MAG semi-automatic welding to BS EN 287 standards and MIG welding.
  2. Weld aluminium, stainless steel, and steel on various materials from 2mm to 25mm, including corrosion work on train body panels.
  3. Use hand tools, buffing, and grinding panels in preparation for welding.
  4. Carry out individual specification welds such as brackets, structural beam work, joints, and sole bars.
  5. Contribute to infrastructure design and build on specific projects.
  6. Welding inspection and certification (CSWIP).
Person Profile:
  1. Experience in welding, ideally on commercial vehicles (HGV/Bus/Aviation/Rolling Stock).
  2. NVQ Level 3 in engineering/welding is preferred.
Additional Information:

All applicants must pass a drugs and alcohol test before being offered a position, as per standard procedures on Rail depots.
