Our client, a leading North East law firm, is recruiting a newly qualified Solicitor to join their Court of Protection team in Durham. The role would suit a trainee Solicitor who is nearing qualification as a Solicitor and can demonstrate at least one completed training contract seat within Court of Protection.

Responsibilities:

Dealing with a caseload of Court of Protection matters, acting on behalf of vulnerable clients who lack the capacity to make decisions about their own health and welfare.
Working with clients, deputyships, third parties, and local authorities.
Advising on all aspects of COP matters including deputyship applications, lasting powers of attorney, and health and welfare disputes.
Assisting in the preparation of court documents and attending hearings as required.
Working closely with families, carers, and professionals to protect the interests of individuals.
Supporting senior colleagues on complex matters and contributing to the team's business development initiatives.
