Qualifications

This is a hybrid role working 3 days in the office (City of London location) and 2 days working from home.

Role Purpose:

The Senior Data Support Engineer role is to develop and support the Bank's Business Intelligence (BI) functions including the Azure data warehouse. The role is closely linked with the Operating divisions. It requires working with Department Heads and divisional accountants with a strong focus on supporting and developing the Finance department.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for Azure Data in areas such as data access & ingestion, data processing, data integration, data visualization and advanced analytics
  • Create and support detailed Power BI reports, data visualizations and dashboards to effectively communicate insights to business.
  • Utilizing Azure Synapse Analytics to provide support for daily data ingestion
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting data-related issues within the Azure environment to maintain high availability and performance.
  • Management of UTB Azure Data Warehouse and regulatory reporting tool (WIRES) provided by Whistlebrook
  • Database administration and optimisation tasks
  • Management of overnight data feeds of data to and from various internal and external sources

Skills and Experience sought:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Computer Science or a related field
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake and Azure Functions
  • Knowledge of Dev-Ops processes including CI/CD
  • Designing and building of data pipelines using API ingestion
  • Knowledge of Microsoft BI Stack (SSRS/SSIS) is desirable
  • Expertise in database management and data modelling
  • Proficient in SQL and data visualization tool such as Power BI
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
