Join Us as Managing Director of QAC Enterprises (QACE), Birmingham

Salary: £65,712.33 p.a. plus up to 10% discretionary bonus

Location: Birmingham | Flexible/Hybrid Working Available | Permanent, Full-Time (37 hours, 52 weeks)

QAC Enterprises (QACE), part of the Queen Alexandra Charity, Birmingham, is seeking an inspirational Managing Director to lead and expand our dynamic portfolio of businesses, including the renowned All Formats transcription service, cane sales for the visually impaired, and the celebrated Sight Village exhibitions.

As Managing Director, you will:

  • Shape and deliver the long-term strategy for QACE
  • Drive business development, innovation, and income diversification
  • Lead and inspire a committed team
  • Represent QACE as a powerful advocate for our mission
  • Oversee operations and ensure financial sustainability
  • Engage with stakeholders across Birmingham, the West Midlands, and beyond

You will report to the QACE Board of Trustees and work closely with the charity’s leadership to ensure that all profits enhance the experiences and opportunities for the students and clients we serve.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds a degree in a relevant field (Business, Management, or similar)
  • Has proven senior leadership experience, ideally within business, charity, or social enterprise sectors
  • Demonstrates strong commercial acumen and a track record of business growth
  • Is an inspiring leader, strategic thinker, and compassionate advocate
  • Embraces innovation and data-driven decision-making
  • Has a deep commitment to inclusivity and empowering disabled individuals

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the long-term strategy of QACE, aligning with its mission, values, and guiding principles. Translate strategy into actionable business plans and targets.
  • Business Development: Lead efforts in business growth by engaging with new prospects, building a sales pipeline with consistent year-on-year growth.
  • Innovation and Enterprise: Identify new opportunities for growth, including social enterprises, to diversify revenue streams and expand impact.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage operational, financial, and enterprise activities to ensure effective and sustainable service delivery.
  • Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement: Represent QACE publicly and build relationships with stakeholders, including customers, clients, and the regional community.
  • Team Leadership and Management: Inspire and support the team, fostering an inclusive and positive workplace culture.
  • Governance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal, financial, and regulatory obligations, working closely with the Board of Trustees and managers.
