Job Summary

Essential Functions

  1. Oversight of the fleet maintenance system (ARI)
  2. Develop vehicle preventive maintenance schedules
  3. Evaluate condition of fleet vehicles
  4. Provide fleet updates quarterly to leadership
  5. Provide fleet catalog specification inputs using business partner feedback
  6. Evaluate fleet replacement list against local fleet conditions
  7. Oversight of vehicle / equipment disposal process
  8. Develop vehicle replacement strategy
  9. Manage all maintenance activities within the O&M budget
  10. Assist business partners in the vehicle order process
  11. Maximize value of company fleet maintenance spend
  12. Monitor vehicle and equipment maintenance to ensure routine PM and DOT required inspections are performed
  13. Execute NiSource Fleet Maintenance Program with external vendors

Required Qualifications For Position

  • Bachelor's Degree or four years of comparable work experience
  • 4-6 years, preferably 5+ years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Office Suite software
  • Broad knowledge of operation as relates to vehicles, trailers, and construction equipment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to grasp technical explanations of operational scenarios and draw accurate conclusions
  • Willingness to make decisions based on incomplete information
  • Demonstrated project and time management skills
  • Strong PC software skills (MS Office Suite, etc.)
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Understanding of Cost Accounting
  • Knowledge of Federal, State & DOT Laws/Regulations pertaining to vehicle operations and maintenance
  • Knowledge of Asset Life-Cycle Management
  • Knowledge of Fleet Operations
  • Strong knowledge of safety and compliance requirements
  • Understanding of operations activities, equipment, supplies, and materials
  • Strong knowledge of company policies and procedures

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

  • Experience with data analytics
  • Experience leading or coaching a team

Salary Range*

$93,800.00 - $140,700.00

*The salary offered to a candidate is based on factors including skills, knowledge, experience, and internal pay equity.
