Job Title: Mechatronic Technician

Reporting to: Automation/Engineering Manager

Role Contribution

The Mechatronics Technician is responsible for the automation and machine build of custom equipment, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automated systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in building state-of-the-art machinery from the ground up.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mechatronic systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues.
  • Wiring control panels and commissioning subsystems such as VSD, PLCs, Vision systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with robotics and control systems.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve problems.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Document maintenance and repair activities.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to improve system performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Train personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
Minimum Requirements
  • HNC / HND and/or degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with robotics and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with robotics and control systems.
  • Certifications in mechatronics, automation, or industrial maintenance (e.g., Siemens, FANUC, Allen-Bradley).
