Job description

A thoughtful and engaging Religious Education Teacher is required to join a well-regarded Independent school in Islington for a permanent position commencing in September. The successful candidate will guide students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 11-16) to explore diverse religious and ethical perspectives, fostering critical thinking and respect for different beliefs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Religious Education Teacher lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE Religious Studies examinations, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of different faiths and philosophical viewpoints.
  • Foster a classroom atmosphere that encourages respectful dialogue and critical analysis of religious and ethical issues.
  • Assess and monitor student progress in Religious Education, providing insightful feedback to support their understanding and personal reflection.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Religious Education or Theology.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Religious Education Teacher lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • A strong academic background in religious studies and a passion for exploring different belief systems and ethical frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, capable of leading sensitive and engaging discussions with students.
