The Creative Industries School at Kingston College is looking for a part-time Fashion Construction Lecturer to teach students in practical vocational courses. The Creative Industries School at Kingston College is seeking a dynamic, proactive, and highly organized individual to teach fashion construction, techniques, and processes. The successful candidate will deliver industry-relevant skills and knowledge to students enrolled in our practical vocational courses.
As a Fashion Construction Lecturer, you should be familiar with relevant machinery and tools, supporting their safe use in classrooms and workshops. A broad understanding of past, current, and future design trends is essential, along with the ability to help students develop advanced skills and understanding.
Requirements include a degree or professional qualification in fashion sewing, pattern-cutting, or construction; a teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain one); and recognition as a good or outstanding teacher. Experience in monitoring and supporting learners to achieve or exceed their potential, with a strong commitment to personalized learning, equality, diversity, and safeguarding, is also necessary.
You should have a good understanding of health and safety procedures in educational settings and possess industry knowledge to support work experience and placements, which are integral to the program.
The position is permanent and part-time (0.6). The salary may increase based on the annual cost of living review.
