The role

As a product manager at Google DeepMind, you will be responsible for integrating cutting-edge AI research breakthroughs into Google’s AI models and products. You will work with brilliant AI researchers focused on making significant advances across new model architectures, AGI, and advanced applications like Agents and Robotics. Your role involves understanding the implications of new architectures on models like Gemini, collaborating with model development teams, and working with product areas such as Cloud and Search to align model advancements with customer needs. You may also ship new models or custom models into products and help build communication and ecosystem strategies to promote adoption and awareness of these advancements.

Key responsibilities

• Understand implications of new model architecture breakthroughs on Gemini and other models.
• Build collaborations with product teams and model development teams to ship model architecture advances.
• Work with Google product areas to understand customer needs that can be addressed with specific model architecture advancements.
• Develop an ecosystem of tooling and infrastructure to enable new model advances as viable alternatives to existing solutions.
• Ship entirely new models when appropriate.

About you

To succeed as a Product Manager at Google DeepMind, you should have:

• BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science.
• Deep understanding of AI model architectures.
• Experience in building AI products based on significant architectural and model advancements.
• Knowledge of the current model landscape, including strengths and weaknesses of various techniques.
• The ability to stay current with relevant research in core model advancements.
• Forecasting skills to identify model gaps necessary for achieving AGI.
• Strategic vision for turning model advancements into product features.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts simply.
• Strong collaboration skills in high-stakes environments with multiple stakeholders.
