Job Purpose

To support the Finance team in maintaining excellent service and support to the wider Group, by undertaking various accounting processes that support the the Group's general ledger, financial and regulatory reporting, whilst completing a Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship working towards achieving the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) professional qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journals through to the accounting general ledger system.
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations to substantiate accounting balances and take ownership of resolving reconciling items as identified.
  • Prepare financial information and analysis as agreed with line manager.
  • Support the wider Finance teams on timely delivery of accurate information for various internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Development of effective relationships with both internal and external key customers.
  • Support payment processing activities, assisting in resolution of payment processing queries from both the business and customers.
  • Support the accounts payable function in resolving queries to ensure timely and accurate payment of supplier invoices.
Knowledge, experience, skills, other attributes
  • Interest in a career in Finance and willingness to learn new skills
  • Proven communication and relationship building skills
  • Basic computer literacy in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Good problem solving and judgement.
Qualifications
  • GSCE in Maths and English at grade C/4 or above
  • Working towards a Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship
