We are seeking a reliable and forward-thinking Senior Cancer Services Pharmacist to join our team, following the promotion of our previous Cancer Pharmacist to a Consultant role. The position is based at Darlington Memorial Hospital, supporting chemotherapy provision across three regional locations, with potential future outpatient clinics.
The post-holder will be part of the Pharmacy Cancer Services team at the Darlington Aseptic Unit, responsible for training rotational and foundation year pharmacists, conducting clinical screening of new chemotherapy patients, and managing aseptically prepared chemotherapy items using the ChemoCare system. The trust supplies chemotherapy to three locations and collaborates with clinicians from James Cook University Hospital and Newcastle University Teaching Hospitals.

The post-holder will lead and manage pharmacy staff, ensuring delivery of safe, effective, and efficient pharmacy and medicines management services. Responsibilities include supervising the Aseptic Unit, developing pharmacy services, engaging in research and audits, maintaining a clinical activity portfolio, leading on education and training, providing expert advice, and supporting multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe medicines use.
Essential: Registered Pharmacist with GPhC, formal training in Aseptic Services, chemotherapy expertise, strong communication and leadership skills, relevant experience in clinical pharmacy, postgraduate degree in Pharmacy, and evidence of CPD.
Desirable: Membership of RPS, postgraduate management qualification, research/publication record, experience managing teams, and involvement in scholarly activities.
