We are a high-performing organization recognized for innovative, high-quality patient care within our pharmacy services, which lead in clinical pharmacy practice and medicines management.

We are seeking a reliable and forward-thinking Senior Cancer Services Pharmacist to join our team, following the promotion of our previous Cancer Pharmacist to a Consultant role. The position is based at Darlington Memorial Hospital, supporting chemotherapy provision across three regional locations, with potential future outpatient clinics.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be part of the Pharmacy Cancer Services team at the Darlington Aseptic Unit, responsible for training rotational and foundation year pharmacists, conducting clinical screening of new chemotherapy patients, and managing aseptically prepared chemotherapy items using the ChemoCare system. The trust supplies chemotherapy to three locations and collaborates with clinicians from James Cook University Hospital and Newcastle University Teaching Hospitals.

About us

Applicants must accept an interview slot via the system to proceed, regardless of prior arrangements with the manager. Essential certificates listed in the person specification must be produced to complete pre-employment checks. We serve from two acute sites—Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham—and operate multiple community hospitals and home care services. We welcome applications from disabled and BAME candidates to address under-representation.
