Inrock Ltd is one of the world’s largest tooling and service providers serving the horizontal directional drilling (HDD) industry. We provide tools and services to HDD contractors globally to help them install infrastructure pipelines transporting water, sewer, oil, gas, electric and fibre underneath geological and man-made obstacles.
Job summary
As a Guidance Engineer, you are part of a growing team that provides customers with exceptional service at locations throughout the United Kingdom and the world. You are responsible for performing a land survey and creating a bore plan, to provide sound advice and direction to clients directly at their job sites and guide them safely past any obstacles and within specified tolerances. You provide expertise and guidance to our customers on site to ensure successful drilling. As the primary contact for customers, you review drawings provided for the layout of HDD crossing, survey and provide layout grid wire in appropriate dimensions.
You will diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, conduct routine inspections, and provide technical support and training to customers.
This role involves frequent travel, occasionally for long periods of time on often short notice.
Your profile
You possess a curious mind and a strong technical interest, excelling in problem-solving tasks. You adopt a collaborative, service-oriented, and solution-focused approach when working with customers. Your clear communication skills enable you to effectively present information, address questions, and lead our customers successfully.
You will be educated to Degree standard or hold an equivalent qualification in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Previous experience in customer service is desirable as well as proficiency in reading technical drawings.
You must be able to work independently, be willing to travel and able to adhere to EHS standards and regulations.
