Veterinary Nurse - Swanland 24-Hour

Swanland is situated in a rural, affluent part of East Yorkshire within beautiful countryside, with easy access to the North York Moors national park, East Yorkshire coastline & the cities of Kingston-Upon-Hull, Beverley, Lincoln, Leeds & York. The beautiful setting is echoed within the practice grounds themselves where you would be able to enjoy breaks & lunches surrounded by curated hanging baskets of flowers and countryside views.

The Swanland 24-Hour team currently consists of a passionate Lead Vet, Practice Manager, a head nurse, a team of vets and RVN’s, student nurses, patient care assistants, client care assistants and administrative staff. We also have a fully functioning and dedicated night team staffed by experienced vets & RVNs to cover out of hours. We have 24-hour hospitalisation, separate dog, cat, exotic & isolation wards, three operating theatres with updated surgical facilities & equipment, an in-house lab, excellent diagnostic imaging facilities, including ultrasound, doppler, digital x ray, range of digital endoscopes, rhinoscopy, arthroscopy and a CT suite along with diagnostic ECG, hydrotherapy, under water treadmill and laser therapy.

This is a full-time 12-month fixed term opportunity, 5 days per week and 1 in 5 Sundays. This is the perfect opportunity to take the next step in your career by joining the growing Medivet community. • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
• Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
• Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
• Deliver patient monitoring and care.
• Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
• Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
• Dispense and check medication.
• Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
• Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
• Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
• Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
• Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
