The Quality Group is responsible for the company's quality management system. As a member of this team, the individual is responsible for the inspection and testing of products manufactured or purchased by Wilcox for the end user.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Enforce the Quality Management Systems.
- Perform quality control inspections, checks, and tests during product manufacturing.
- Inspect materials, parts, and products at different production stages.
- Read blueprints and follow directions accurately.
- Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Operate measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, Micro-Hite, optical comparators, and hardness testers.
- Maintain and calibrate measuring and testing equipment.
- Apply statistical process control.
- Handle nonconforming products appropriately.
- Collect and retain quality records.
- Communicate with internal teams regarding the Quality System and ISO 9000 certification.
- Perform other duties as necessary to support business needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in a high-paced quality role; manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand technical specifications, engineering drawings, and GD&T with minimal support.
- Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Working knowledge of measuring instruments.
- Proficient in data collection, analysis, and presentation.
- Experience with PC-DMIS (CMM) is a plus.
- Proficient in data analysis.
- Computer skills in MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to multi-task effectively.
- Experience with ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems and audits.
- Regular on-site attendance is required.
- Access to export-controlled technology requires legal authorization prior to employment.
