Job Description

We are a dynamic multifunctional team delivering structural repairs and repair processes to support the Airbus fleet. We work closely together to provide complex repairs in support of planned major repair activities and wing major test programmes. We enjoy the challenge of creating and delivering repairs for any sort of damage, anywhere on the wing!

Role Overview

As part of an expert multiskilled team, you will be responsible for Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F+DT) analysis and justification of metallic and composite structures. Your primary role will involve working closely with design and static stress engineers to assess and validate repairs to damaged aircraft structures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural F+DT analysis and compile justification reports for repair designs using Airbus approved methods and tools, collaborating with skilled designers to develop optimal repairs.
  • Create, compile, and coordinate engineering documentation to deliver the required technical data for repairs.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Airbus internal teams, including offshore teams and suppliers, as required.

Skill Set

  • Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) with relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience analyzing aircraft structures using various hand and computer methods.
  • Understanding of F+DT analysis methods and the ability to develop these methods.
  • Knowledge and experience with both metallic and composite structures.
  • Understanding of airworthiness regulations.
  • Ability to assess how repair designs affect the static strength of aircraft structures with sound rationale.
  • Skill in selecting and applying appropriate analysis methods to repair designs.
  • Effective liaison and negotiation skills with Design, Customer Services, and suppliers.
  • Excellent computer skills and good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into operational deliverables.
  • Capability to work under pressure, ensuring timely, correct, and quality deliverables within tight deadlines.
  • Pragmatic problem-solving skills and good engineering rationale for decision-making.
  • Knowledge of technical requirements for repair design.
  • Working knowledge of Airbus Wing Structures.
  • Experience with Finite Element analysis application.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of Airbus design principles, processes, methods, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with metallic and composite Airbus Wing structures.
