We are recruiting for a Self Defence Instructor, which might just be the job for you.

Fusion Lifestyle’s Sports Coaches inspire a passion for sport in others. As a coach, you will lead, motivate, and build the sports skills and knowledge of a diverse range of people, from various backgrounds, abilities, and ages. You will welcome everyone, have a natural ability to build rapport and trust, while running sessions effectively and efficiently, and setting realistic goals.

To be successful as a Sports Coach with Fusion, you will need experience in a comparable role, with the ability to work flexibly to meet customer needs. You should have excellent communication skills, including listening, questioning, and delivering effective feedback, along with strong numerical and written skills. An understanding of relevant health and safety legislation and different learning styles is also desirable.

You will also need:

• A Level 1 or 2 coaching qualification from a relevant governing body

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with customers and potential customers
• Undertaking sessions according to the programme timetable and ensuring classes start on time
• Providing options and realistic goals tailored to individual needs and abilities
• Ensuring the efficient operation of sessions, including equipment setup and takedown
• Completing all administrative tasks and assisting in promoting the centre’s services
• Contributing to programming development through your ideas and actions to meet customer demands
• Referring safeguarding concerns promptly, following Fusion’s safeguarding policy
• Maintaining mandatory qualifications, licensing, and CPD/training requirements
• Taking responsibility for hygiene, health, and safety policies and procedures
• Performing hygiene, health, and safety checks, reporting issues immediately
• Managing customer flow and expectations regarding waiting times and attendance
• Carrying out daily cleaning and maintenance of equipment, reporting faults or repairs
• Managing customer behaviour to ensure safety and enjoyment
