Job description

ODP | Anaesthetic Nurse | Theatre Practitioner | Perioperative Practitioner | Theatre Nurse | Full Time | Permanent

Are you an experienced ODP or Anaesthetic Nurse who enjoys working in a fast-paced theatres environment? Do you have a passion for providing exceptional standards of patient care and a desire to work in an AfPP accredited theatres team? Do you want the opportunity to develop your career in a modern and supportive environment? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you.

We are looking for a strong and motivated Anaesthetic Nurse or ODP to join the perioperative team as a Theatre Practitioner.

This role is for 37.5 Hours per week, working 07:45 – 17:45 for 4 days between Monday and Saturday. Saturdays will be on average 1 per month.

Role Responsibilities

As an Anaesthetic Practitioner you will:

  • Support and assess patients prior to the surgery.
  • Support the anaesthetist and prepare any specialist equipment.
  • Communicate effectively within the multidisciplinary team including Scrub, Anaesthetics, and Recovery Practitioners.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments including Sterile Services, Wards, and Imaging to ensure effective and smooth-running patient care.
  • Maintain and enhance your own professional development.

Person Specification

  • Be a qualified and registered Practitioner (RN or ODP).
  • Have post-registration experience working as an Anaesthetic Practitioner.
  • Be patient-oriented with a focus on continuous service improvement.
  • Have evidence of continuous professional development and its application.
  • Experience working as a Scrub Practitioner.
  • Experience of planning, coordinating, and running the daily workload in a theatre suite, including the supervision of staff.
