Qualifications

Job description

Full time, Permanent

Location: Harpenden

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum

Our client has a permanent, full-time vacancy for a Paralegal to join their Residential Conveyancing team.

The Job:
  1. Opening and managing files throughout the transaction in accordance with procedures
  2. Obtaining title deeds, Land Registry title and plans
  3. Preparing Contract documentation
  4. Obtaining searches and replies to property questionnaires
  5. Checking post and dealing with matters arising
  6. Independently dealing with general enquiries by email or telephone and keeping all parties informed
  7. Progressing a transaction, keeping all parties up to date
  8. Preparing Completion Statements and completing transactions
  9. Dealing with post completion of files
  10. Managing key dates
  11. Manage all updates to lenders including LMS Stars and Lender Exchange Portals
  12. Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and solicitors etc.
  13. Closing files and managing residual balances promptly
  14. Legal research
  15. Ensuring all client details are kept up to date
  16. Diary management
  17. Scanning and copying
  18. Audio typing, as required
  19. Fully utilising the capabilities of a Case Management Systems
  20. Using Land Registry Portal, SDLT, Word, Outlook and other computer packages as appropriate
  21. Provide support to other fee earners within the department as and when required
The Person:
  1. Minimum of 2 years Conveyancing experience
  2. Ability to work independently, as well as in conjunction with the rest of the department
  3. Demonstrates persistence and commitment to completing tasks and objectives
  4. Able to work at speed producing a high volume of work to a high standard
  5. Excellent telephone manner
  6. Multi-task in a busy environment
  7. Ability to prioritise
  8. Confident using case management systems with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word
  9. Outstanding organisational skills
  10. High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  11. Excellent communication
  12. Proactive and able to use initiative
  13. A commitment to maintain high client care standards
  14. Calm under pressure with the ability to prioritise effectively
