This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic pharmacist to contribute to patient-centred care, prescribing decisions, and multidisciplinary collaboration in a leading teaching hospital.

About the Role

The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh is a large teaching hospital known for its excellence across various specialist services. The Simpson’s Neonatal unit is a tertiary centre and provides care for around 850 babies per year within intensive care, high dependency and special care units. And you would be involved with the day to day medicines management of gynaecology and fertility patients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy service.

  • Opportunities for career progression, including developing advanced clinical and prescribing skills.
  • A role with real impact, supporting critical decision-making and improving patient flow in a fast-paced hospital setting.

About you

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Completed training or equivalent competence mapped to the RPS Post-Registration Foundation Pharmacist Curriculum.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience in proactively influencing prescribing, using clinical knowledge to optimise patient care.
  • A strong patient-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, enabling effective decision-making in an acute medical setting.
  • A proactive attitude, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
