Location: Middlesbrough
Pay: £84- £110 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Daily Supply, Long Term

Whether you're an experienced PE Teaching Assistant, Sports Coach, or aspiring PE Teacher, this is a great chance to gain valuable experience in an educational setting.

Role Overview:
As a PE HLTA, you will support PE teachers in delivering engaging and structured lessons. You will work with students in small groups, assist with lesson planning, and help create a positive and inclusive PE environment. You will also encourage students to get involved in extracurricular sports and promote a culture of fitness and well-being.

Key Responsibilities of a PE Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA):

  • Deliver engaging PE lessons, supporting teachers to enhance the school’s sports curriculum.
  • Lead small group sessions and provide one-to-one support to students.
  • Encourage teamwork, resilience, and a positive attitude towards physical activity.
  • Assist in organising sports events, competitions, and extracurricular activities.
  • Support the PE department with lesson planning, assessments, and resources.
  • Provide classroom cover when needed, ensuring good classroom management.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive sporting environment where students feel confident.
  • Ensure safeguarding and health & safety standards are followed in all activities.

Requirements to be a PE Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA):

  • Experience as a PE HLTA, PE Teaching Assistant, Sports Coach, or in a similar role in an educational or youth sports setting.
  • Good understanding of physical education, child development, and behaviour management.
  • Relevant qualification in Sports, PE, or Coaching (Level 3 or higher preferred).
  • Passion for promoting health, fitness, and well-being.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate students.
  • Ability to manage groups and maintain discipline in all activities.
  • Updated CV (covering the last ten years) and enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willing to apply for one).
