Job Description:

An opportunity to work for one of the largest Insurance Companies in the world, who are firmly in growth mode and are looking for an experienced Senior Development Underwriter.

You will be part of the Branch Senior Team, reporting directly to the Branch Manager and working with some of the group's largest and most important broker relationships.

The Role

• Work with a panel of strategic partner brokers to develop new business opportunities and leverage those relationships to support renewal retention.
• Manage your own diary to ensure visibility across the panel and maintain the company's profile in the local market.
• Develop a strong pipeline of in-appetite opportunities to develop and convert in line with new business targets.
• Manage a small book of larger and more complex key clients through the renewal process, ensuring appropriate cross-sell opportunities are implemented.
• Liaise with the Regional Underwriting Officer to obtain sign-off on large out-of-authority cases by developing a compelling business case.
• Trade with key contacts in the market and ensure that the company's products and appetite are known and shared across your broker panel.
• Support and develop less experienced colleagues to increase the skill level and experience of the branch team as required.

The Candidate

• Be an experienced Senior Underwriter, Lead, or Trading Underwriter with a strong new business track record.
• Have an extensive network of key broker contacts supporting trading activities in both new business and renewals.
• Be solutions-focused, self-motivated, and able to work efficiently and effectively.
• Be comfortable with face-to-face trading with brokers.
• Have experience in meeting clients directly, either on risk management visits or as part of a new business pitch in conjunction with distribution.
• Possess excellent technical insurance knowledge of Property & Casualty elements.
