Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll ensure a clean and well-maintained environment so residents feel at home and staff can perform their duties effectively. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first-class care and support.

You can expect variety in this role. You'll handle tasks within the care home building, gardens, and grounds, such as fixing leaks or planting bulbs. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team, and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. You'll also liaise with contractors for specialized jobs outside your team's expertise.

ABOUT YOU

The wellbeing of our residents will be your top priority. You will ensure all work is carried out with sensitivity to their needs. With hands-on property maintenance experience, you'll have at least one trade skill and ideally a proven ability to undertake a range of maintenance tasks. Reliability, flexibility in working hours, a full UK driving license, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are required.

In return for your dedication, you'll receive a competitive pay rate plus our sector-leading benefits and rewards, including:

  • Free training and development for all roles
  • Access to wellbeing and support tools
  • A range of retail discounts and savings
  • Unlimited referrals with our 'Refer a Friend' bonus scheme
