Description:

• Provide specialist virtual desktop technical capability and delivery within the Workplace Virtualization team, including design, integration of new technologies, project support, and BAU activities.
• Collaborate closely with other Workplace & Infrastructure teams to deliver strategic direction and expand the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, supporting a move towards a cloud-based service.
• Interface with an international Virtual Workplace team managing 20+ Citrix farms for 30,000+ users.
• Contribute to and assist with the Virtual Desktop roadmap, working with Tech Specialists & architects.
• Develop virtual desktop and application hosting offerings to meet local and global requirements.
• Create business cases for desktop platform usage for local and global clients.
• Ensure project proposals align with global strategy and optimize end-user experience.
• Support Tech specialists by providing guidance, support, and consultancy.
• Maintain expertise by working with internal teams and vendors on current and future technologies.
• Monitor technical debt and propose mitigation solutions.
• Ensure technical rollout timescales are met and project delivery is on time.
• Provide third-line support within SLA, sharing knowledge effectively.
• Identify and meet cost reduction targets within set timelines.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and automated reporting where possible.
• Document consultancy activities, meetings, joint action plans, and project proposals.
• Maintain technical knowledge through courses, certifications, vendor events, and product presentations.

Expertise:

• Proven experience in a project environment, driving technical design and performance improvements.
• Ability to understand and implement new technologies, with problem-solving skills.
• Strategic knowledge of Virtual Desktop technologies.
• Excellent communication skills suitable for diverse audiences.
• Capability to share IT knowledge effectively.
• Experience in developing Virtual Workplace IT solutions.
• Ability to liaise with third-party vendors and clients.
• Solution design expertise.
• Strong knowledge of technologies such as Citrix Cloud, Active Directory, Windows 10/11 & Server versions, XenApp/XenDesktop, ESX & Azure environments, SCCM, Intune, Ivanti Appsense, PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
• Flexibility to work outside regular hours, including occasional overtime or weekend work.
• Ability to follow change management procedures and internal guidelines.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
