Job Description:

Salt is currently partnered with a Central Government agency in the Southwest of England, seeking a MLOps Engineer for an initial 6-month contract. The role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to the site for team meetings.

The role is INSIDE IR35 & paying £ per day via Umbrella.

Role

The focus is on collaborating with scientists to develop code for new scientific evaluations of machine learning weather models. Responsibilities include optimizing robustness, performance, and reusability through software quality assurance practices. The role also involves promoting coding best practices, ensuring adherence through appropriate infrastructure such as tests and documentation, and integrating code into project workflows across platforms to facilitate routine use by researchers.

Responsibilities and Skills

As the project codebase grows, maintaining good software quality assurance, including principles of MLOps, is essential. The role involves integrating scientific developments into a robust, reusable, and extensible workflow on both on-premises Linux clusters and cloud ML platforms.
