We are looking for Senior and Principal Structural Engineers for our Cambridge office to join an established team working with a diverse client group.

Your New Role, What's Involved?

You will work daily with our Civil & Structural Engineering teams in Cambridge and across the UK to help WSP on challenging and high-profile education, healthcare, and technology sector projects. Collaboration with our specialist services teams will help bring added value to our projects.

Full support and supervision will be provided to ensure your development towards Chartered status.

This role involves taking a lead in project work, design document production & delivery, and liaising with clients and stakeholders within our growing building structures team.

• Work with clients, project teams, and stakeholders to assemble design & specifications that meet requirements, agree on formats, and monitor their preparation to ensure delivery by deadlines.
• Coordinate with architects and co-professionals at project inception to establish project briefs.
• Assist in project lifecycle documentation—QA, CDM, archiving—and mentor junior colleagues.
• Support your team members and participate in design and staff development reviews.

The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, good project leadership potential, and effective communication abilities with team members and stakeholders.

We'd Love to Hear From You If You Have

• Achieved or approaching Chartered Engineer status (MIStructE / AIStructE / MICE) or relevant equivalent experience.
• A solid knowledge of structural engineering principles, analytical techniques, design software, and Eurocodes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in producing clear and concise engineering deliverables.
• An interest in low carbon design and embodied carbon assessment to inform engineering decisions.
• Experience in quality assurance of project deliverables, including calculations and drawings.
