Position Overview:

As a Battery Engineer at EV Battery Solutions, you will be instrumental in the refurbishment and remanufacturing process of batteries. You will work closely with a team of engineers and technicians to disassemble, inspect, test, and reassemble battery modules and packs. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the circular economy and reduce the environmental impact of battery waste.

Responsibilities:

  • Battery Disassembly: Disassemble battery modules and packs using appropriate tools and equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Component Inspection: Inspect battery components for wear, damage, or defects, and identify parts that require replacement or repair.
  • Testing and Analysis: Conduct electrical, mechanical, and performance tests on battery cells and modules to assess functionality and integrity.
  • Fault Diagnosis: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with battery systems, including cell degradation, voltage irregularities, and thermal management issues.
  • Repair and Replacement: Perform repairs, replacements, and upgrades on battery components, such as electronics, connectors, wiring, and cooling systems.
  • Reassembly and Verification: Reassemble battery modules and packs according to manufacturer specifications, ensuring proper alignment and connection of components. Verify functionality of the battery management systems (BMS) for optimal performance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of work performed, including test results, repairs, replacements, and inventory management. Prepare reports and documentation for internal records and quality assurance purposes.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that remanufactured batteries meet quality standards and performance requirements. Conduct final inspections and testing before products are released for reuse or resale.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency enhancement, and cost reduction in the remanufacturing process. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field engineering/scientific fields is preferred. Relevant certifications or training in battery technology are a plus.
  • 1-3 years of experience in battery remanufacturing, refurbishment, or related Automotive fields.
  • Strong technical aptitude and hands-on experience with battery systems, including lithium-ion, nickel-metal hydride, and automotive manufacturing process.
  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical testing equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of battery management systems (BMS), diagnostic tools, and software applications.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and precision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience with MySQL, LabVIEW, Python, and other relevant software preferred.
