The Data and Insights Division is comprised of four key areas: 1. Data Governance and Intelligence 2. Data Acquisition, Quality, Strategy and Literacy 3. Data Insights 4. Data Architecture, Platform and Engineering. This presents an opportunity to design a data strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and execute the delivery of data effectively. D&I enables SJP to leverage value from its data through actionable insights and data-led decision making.

The Data Acquisition, Quality, and Strategy (DAQS) Division focuses on relationship and communication, Data Quality, and Strategy and Culture at SJP. Reporting to the Divisional Director, the role holder will support the design and implementation of data strategies that maximize the value of our data assets, alongside leading the development and execution of a comprehensive data literacy program across the business.

This is a pivotal role, ensuring that all employees have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to use data effectively, fostering a data-driven culture that enhances decision-making, innovation, and compliance in a highly regulated financial services environment.

What you’ll be doing:
  1. Collaborating with business stakeholders to develop and refine SJP's data strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  2. Developing and implementing a strategic roadmap to enhance data literacy across all levels of the business.
  3. Defining success metrics and tracking progress toward establishing a data-driven culture.
  4. Leading initiatives to establish and maintain a data product ecosystem, including defining data product frameworks, governance, and lifecycle management.
  5. Designing and implementing methodologies to measure and demonstrate the value derived from data assets and data products.
  6. Working closely with business units to identify and prioritize data opportunities, ensuring the strategy addresses key pain points and drives innovation.
  7. Acting as a champion for data literacy, engaging with senior leaders to secure buy-in and drive organizational change.
  8. Designing and delivering tailored training programs, workshops, and resources to improve data understanding and usage.
  9. Fostering a culture where data is seen as a strategic asset and employees feel empowered to use data in their roles.
  10. Ensuring all data literacy programs align with regulatory requirements and organizational data governance policies.
Who we’re looking for:

We are seeking an experienced Data Strategy and Literacy professional who will shape how data is leveraged to drive growth, efficiency, and competitive advantage across SJP. The role holder should have key experience in designing and communicating data strategy and/or literacy initiatives, and be highly capable in driving cultural change.

Essential Criteria
  • Experience designing and communicating data strategy and/or leading data literacy initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to foster mutually beneficial relationships across multiple business areas.
  • Proven experience in driving cultural change within large organizations.
  • Experience designing and implementing training programs or transformation initiatives, preferably in data-related fields.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience with both data strategy and literacy combined.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
  • Experience with Data Management and Governance Tools such as Aperture, Talend, Erwin Data Intelligence Suite, Power BI, SQL, Snowflake.
Special Requirements:
  • Some business travel may be necessary.
