Job Title:

Maintenance Technician (Training Provided)

Location:

Hourly Pay Rate:
  • Level 3 - £21.12 P.A.Y.E. OR £27.74 Umbrella
  • Level 2 - £20.06 P.A.Y.E. 26.32 Umbrella (Rising to level 3 after 9 months)
Shifts:

Mixed (5 on 5 off days and nights, 12-hour shifts). Must be willing to work both days and nights.

Hours per Week:

40-48 + overtime

Duration:

Ongoing, guaranteed 12 months, likely to be around 3+ years, with a chance to become permanent based on performance.

Client Summary:

We are recruiting Mechanical Maintenance Technicians for the transportation sector. We offer a tailor-made training program to upskill mechanically minded individuals into highly competent maintenance technicians for Rolling Stock, in partnership with Siemens Mobility.

Position Summary:

You will perform maintenance, repair, and fault finding on rolling stock passenger vehicles, including systems like braking, pneumatics, wheelsets, and other mechanical assemblies.

Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out maintenance, repairs, and inspections
  • Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical & electronic faults
  • Performing routine servicing and general maintenance
  • Documenting faults and repairs accurately
  • Ensuring safe and efficient work practices
  • Operating powered plant and mechanical handling equipment
  • Reporting process, tooling, or documentation issues
  • Highlighting health and safety concerns
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Supporting quality, waste reduction, delivery, and H&S targets
  • Producing fault-finding reports and suggesting improvements
Person Profile/Experience:

Experience in vehicle mechanics, fault-finding, and maintenance principles is desirable but not essential. Knowledge of workplace H&S and ability to record work electronically are preferred.

Qualifications:

Minimum NVQ Level 2 in a Mechanical discipline or equivalent experience. At least 1 year's relevant mechanical/electrical work experience is preferred.
