Job description

Sales Engineer – West Midlands – Robotics

West Midlands, South Birmingham

Permanent

Sales Engineer – B2B – Birmingham / West Midlands – £30-45k + commission

+++Highlights – huge opportunities for progression, working in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving company, you’ll be working with high calibre, highly talented Engineers+++

Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Sales Engineer to join a specialist robotics company located in the South Birmingham area. Could suit a Sales Executive or a Junior Account Manager with B2B sales experience. Engineering experience isn’t a requirement either – a positive attitude and a sales-focused mindset are the two key factors!

Key aspects of the Sales Engineer role include:

  • Bring enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude to the position – the Sales Engineer role will suit a self-starter who is keen on building their own reputation and someone who would relish the opportunity to progress into a full Business Development person.
  • The role could suit someone with 12-18 months B2B selling experience right up to a seasoned Sales Engineer with 4-5 years relevant experience. The number of years experience isn’t a key measure though, it’s the successful Sales Engineer’s attitude and approach.
  • Identify key decision makers, build relationships with them and identify any potential needs.
  • A sales mindset is key – identify a clients’ needs and provide a solution that works for all parties through building partnerships and being a first-class communicator.
  • Confident in presenting over the phone and able to deal with rejections.
  • Initially, the Sales Engineer will predominantly be office-based, working alongside one of the Directors, building relationships with potential customers, generating leads, and booking meetings.
  • The technical side of what the range of products do can be taught; what the successful Sales Engineer needs to bring to the table is a go-getting attitude and be comfortable working in a startup-style environment with limited structure (this isn’t for everyone!). There might not always be someone on tap who has the answers!

The Birmingham-based facility is based just South of the city and is commutable from Shirley, Solihull, Dudley, Halesowen, Stourbridge, Redditch, Bromsgrove, and Kidderminster.
